3rd Recipe Buttermilk Oven-Fried Chicken

Ingredients for Buttermilk Oven-Fried Chicken - Enjoy!
1 1/2 cups buttermilk           4 teas. garlic powder
2 teas. salt                            2 teas. thyme
1 teas. sage                          1 teas. paprika
1/2 teas. black pepper          2 1/2 pounds chicken pieces
1 1/2 cups dry bread crumbs
1/4 cup flour

Place buttermilk and spices in bowl and add chicken pieces. Cover  and ref. for 5 hours. 
Combine flour and bread crumbs in bowl, dip each piece in mixture and place in baking pan. let stand 10 minutes. Pour melted butter over the top of each piece. Bake on 400 for 50 minutes or until done.
I substituted my own buttermilk by using 1 tablespoon of lemon juice in 1 cup of milk for the actual buttermilk.
